Everyone MattersEveryone Learns

As part of the National Curriculum, we are delighted to offer swimming sessions again this year.  We have a fantastic covered swimming pool, which can be used the whole year through.

We intend that each class will swim for two half terms; each class will be divided into three groups and will swim for 40 minutes at a time. These times are subject to change (e.g. for trips). The swimming will take place in the afternoon between 1.10pm and 3.10pm. To find out information about how well our swimmers do, please follow this link - Swimming statistics

The proposed timetable is as follows:

The lesson will be taken by our qualified swimming coach, Mr Counsell.  Each year, we ask for a contribution towards the cost of swimming, as we receive no financial support for this.  As a result of hiring the pool out after school, we have been able to subsidise the cost of the lessons.  Therefore, for this academic year, we are asking for a contribution of £20.00. This is payable via your Wisepay account.

For each swimming lesson, your child should bring in a waterproof bag, a swimming costume, (Bermuda Shorts and Bikini's are not suitable for school swimming)  towel and a hat. All children must wear a swimming hat - on sale at the office at a cost of £2.00.   All items must be named.  The children are permitted to wear swimming goggles if they wish to do so.

For swimming to take place, it is essential that we have parental help to assist with hats and the changeover etc.  If you are able to help, please contact  the school office or email   All helpers will be required to have a current DBS with our school.  For further information on this, please read our section on DBS Applications.
