School Meals

Our children are busy growing, not just through their learning, but physically too. We know that to perform at their best, they need a balanced and nutritious diet.

Twelve15 is part of Surrey County Council and it has been providing school meals for over 70 years, it feeds thousands of school children daily and is Horsell Junior School's caterer.  Pupils’ wellbeing is at the heart of Twelve15’s recipes, providing fresh, healthy, and nutritionally balanced lunches that adhere to Government Food Standards.  80% of meals are cooked from scratch in our on-site modern kitchen, using locally sourced produce whenever possible.

There is a three-week menu cycle, offering two daily hot meal options including a vegetarian choice. Meals must be paid for and booked in advance using our online payment system, Scopay.  Using this system, children can choose a mixture of school meals and home packed lunches.

Information regarding our caterers and the current menu, can be found here

Special dietary requirements:

Twelve15 caters for the 14 key allergens identified by the Food Standards Agency.  It also has a range of Special Diet menus including ‘Dairy Free’ and ‘Free from Gluten’.  Our Primary school kitchens are nut free. Click here for more information and allergen menus.

If your child has a special diet - religious, ethical or medical diet - please complete special diet request form below.  The form should also be completed for any changes to your child's dietary requirements.
Please complete this even if your child does not have school lunches, as the school will use this information for school trips, cookery skills and other lessons where food may be provided.

Free School Meals

Free School Meals are available to those children who are in receipt of certain benefits. If you think your family may be eligible please click here for further information or speak to the school office.

Packed lunches

As part of our healthy eating policy, we encourage pupils who eat a packed lunch to enjoy a balanced diet including, for example, a sandwich, cereal bar and a piece of fruit. If your child brings a packed lunch to school, it must be in an unbreakable container, clearly labelled with the child’s name and class and all drinks should be in plastic containers. Please note we are a nut-free school.

Fruit and drinks

Children may bring in a healthy snack from home.  Mid-morning snacks may include a piece of fresh or dried fruit or vegetables. Please ensure children do not bring in biscuits or chocolate bars for snack time.

All children must bring a labelled water bottle to school.  These can be refilled at water stations throughout the school day.
