Year 3 Caribbean Music Workshop
Year 3 were delighted to welcome Jo Lawrence, a specialist music teacher, who delivered an exciting two‑day workshop all about the Caribbean. The children explored vibrant music from Central America, learnt about the history of the region, and worked creatively to compose their own songs and rhythms. As a grand finale, pupils proudly performed their pieces in front of parents, showcasing both their musical talent and their new understanding of Caribbean culture.
Year 3 Engage Prayer Space Workshop
Our Year 3 pupils recently took part in a thoughtful and creative workshop with Engage Prayer Space. The children explored themes of reflection, gratitude, and wellbeing through interactive activities designed to help them pause, think, and express themselves in meaningful ways. It was a wonderful opportunity for pupils to develop empathy, consider big questions, and enjoy a calm space for personal reflection within their busy school day.
Year 3 Geography Fieldwork
Our Year 3 pupils recently explored Horsell Village as part of their Geography fieldwork, identifying a range of human and physical features in the local environment. The children enjoyed spotting examples such as houses, shops, schools, Church and recreational spaces for leisure, and were particularly fascinated to learn and discuss that the Basingstoke Canal is man-made rather than a natural feature. This hands‑on experience brought their classroom learning to life and encouraged thoughtful conversations about how people shape the places around them.
Stone Age Workshop November 2025
Year 3 had a fantastic time during their Stone Age workshop led by Chertsey Museum! The session brought history to life as pupils explored a fascinating collection of genuine and replica artefacts, including tools, weapons, and everyday items used by early humans. They learned how these objects were made and what they reveal about life thousands of years ago. Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, the children deepened their understanding of the Stone Age and developed a real appreciation for the resourcefulness of prehistoric people. It was an exciting and educational experience that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm across the class.
