At Horsell, we believe books are like windows that offer views of worlds that can be real or imagined, known or new. We believe books are like doors that allow readers to step into the world created by the author. We also believe books are like mirrors that allow us to reflect on ourselves and our life. 

We believe in all children have a right to access to a range of high quality and diverse texts where each child feels represented and is able to find books that help them learn, explore the world and develop a love for reading.

Books are used as hooks into units of study, to celebrate a range of religious festivals and themed events and also as teacher led reading for pleasure sessions.
